I heard of the possibility of the Bucks playing at the HIVE if they advance to the finals. It's something having to do with the LEA not being available. If I remember correctly, this happened a few seasons back. Only then, they had home ice advantage and they played away first to fit the LEC schedule. I'd BEE willing to go cheer for the Bucks. It would be weird having hockey at the HIVE this late in April. Perhaps now, the Bucks can get over the 5,000 mark in play off attendance. With our help, of course! _________________ SPEAK SOFTLY, BUT CARRY A BIG STICK! |

(I just rechecked the date and it's not April Fools Day anymore . . .)
Count me in on that. I'll bet a lot of people would go and show some support. Wearing our Bees gear and cheering for the other team, of course! Just kidding . . . . sort of. I'd be glad just to watch some live hockey without having to travel.
Just goes to show you that the City of Laredo and/or Bucks management have no idea what the heck they are doing. It almost seems like they are TRYING to kill hockey in Laredo. How could they let something like this happen? Basically, they are giving up whatever advantage they get from playing at home and alienating their loyal fans in the process. Then again, with their sucky attendance lately, how much advantage could they possibly have? Then again again, they'll be lucky to make it to the conference finals. _________________ Blog: puddinman.wordpress.com |

First of all, congratulations on waking up and posting a little something on this site. I like to read what most people think about hockey in general.
Now on to the management at the "Laredo Energy Arena" (sounds stupid doesn't it) The LEC and now the LEA, has ALWAYS scheduled the Home and Garden Show at this time. They must think that the Bucks will never make the playoffs. Maybe now some of you can see the frustration (BS) the Bucks fans have to deal with and why the some of the Bucks fans decide to stay away. Most feel we get screwed over and over.
I'm sure that the Bees faithful feel the same way die hard Bucks fans do. Hockey has been a ray of sunshine with lots of excitement for everyone. Puddin mentioned that the City of Laredo and/or the Bucks management have no idea what the heck they are doing. Our media and coverage sucks even worse. When we watch the sports cast on the News, they'll mention High School sports, the NBA, NFL, or some obscure sport, THEN the Bucks at the end. Same goes for the Laredo Morning Times. They'll post something about the game on the 2nd page. Without a doubt, the Bucks are and have been the most successful sports venue in Laredo, yet the ride the back seat to local High School sports.
If the Bucks do play in the Valley (and I hope they do) Bees fans will have a chance to see playoff hockey at it's best. Can you imagine Bees fans cheering for the Bucks against Odessa in the Southern Finals? I know Beebuzz will be there for sure. |

If this would happen, I'd BEE the first one in line to buy tickets. I'm sure a lot of BEE faithful would as well. It would be lots of fun cheering for the Bucks. Mo, how many Bucks fans do think would make the trip? I hope puddin' and bobcat don't start discussing the possible attendance senarios. _________________ SPEAK SOFTLY, BUT CARRY A BIG STICK! |

C'mon KILRBEES, attendance is a moot point: we win by default!
I don't think many CHL teams get good media coverage. I think the Bees get good coverage, relative to others, but that's because the Bees forge those partnerships with radio, TV and newspaper. I don't expect many other teams want to spend the money.
If the Bucks do indeed get the honor of playing in the RGV, you know I'll be there along with my entire Laredo clan. _________________ Blog: puddinman.wordpress.com |

| If it does happen and of course, depending on the day of the week, I see no less than 500 fans going during week days and possibly triple that on weekends. If it does happen, I'm sure they'll arrange to bring bus loads to the Valley. Of course the question is "IF". I'm sure I'd drive or take a bus for every game possible. The thought of Bees and Bucks fans cheering for the Bucks would be awesome. Of course, some Bees fans would want to cheer for the Jacks. |

| The way the Bucks played last night, they may as well hand the series to Allen. Now it's do or die. |

I watched the game and must say that it was very good hockey. I was rooting for the Bucks til the very last minute. I think they lacked size much like the Bees. They kept getting banged into the boards. They could have used Hiebert and Simoes. Cully was very impressive for his age and not to mention Pelletier. He was just out of his mind. He kept them in it til the end. It was sad to see how Allen dominated certain parts of the game. I agree with Benway when he said how Allen is a team that is very well put together. They had 13 players try out for the AHL at the beginnig of the season. Well, I had my hopes that the Bucks would win. I really wanted to see the Bucks in the Valley, even if it was a small chance of that happening. The Bucks fans, players and organization should BEE very proud of their team for being able to overcome all the drama and injuries this season and still being able to go this far. Congratulations! _________________ SPEAK SOFTLY, BUT CARRY A BIG STICK! |
