This is a good signing for the Bees. Powell brings a lot more than shows on the stat sheet. This guy hustles all the time and will go with any role given to him. Killerbees fans will love him too especially the kids.Plus it gives us CHL IceRays fans a little extra to cheer for when we visit. I wonder how many more will follow.

Great pickup....feels kinda weird cuz i used to boo him, but glad to have him on the team....always hustles and seems to be a smart player on the ice. Welcome to the Valley. Go Bees!!

From the CHL site...."I knew that if I ever left Corpus Christi, RGV was the place that I'd want to go to," Powell said. "The style of play is what I like; a fast team that's exciting to watch. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm sick of being done playing after the mini-round. I want to go deep into the playoffs and be the team that everyone else is sitting around watching."

“I’ve always enjoyed coming to the Valley to play against the Killer Bees because the building gets so loud and the fans are so passionate,” Powell continued. “It will be exciting to finally be able to feed off that energy as a member of the home team.”
