The Laredo Fire Department is looking for a good football team to go against the Laredo Firefighters. The Firefighters and Police play each other once a year, with the Firefighters spanking the Police all the time. The game is called "Guns n Hoses" and is a benefit for Special Olympics, United Way, WINGS, the Food Bank or any other entity in need of funds.

This year the Police managed to squeak of out the game, stating that their players weren't showing up for practice, but in reality, I think they don't want to be humiliated once again. Now the Firefighters are stuck with footing the bill for the field, and advertising expenses. We are looking for a good team that will give the Firefighters competition and also be kind-hearted enough to play for a benefit. We would love to play either the Police or Firefighters from the Valley.

The McAllen "Nightmare" volunteered to play the Laredo Fire Dept. They are members of a semi-pro team that play in a league here in Texas. I have no clue how good this team is, but I'm sure they'll play a good game.

Anyone have any info on the Nightmare?

If you are a supporter for the "McAllen Nightmare" you are invited to the game, June 5th in Laredo at the Student Athletic Complex (SAC) tickets are about $5.00 to $8.00 with "ALL PROCEEDS" going the the Special Olympics.

It has been a loooong time since Lucifer had reared it's hateful ways in this modest site. Welcome back Satan.

I'm sure someone in the Valley (not you, you hateful imp) is interested in helping out with the Special Olympics. I've met evil doers like yourself (not many) and I'm sure people like yourself have a place in society, I just don't know where.

I would normally have a few questions for people like you, for example.
Where and who do you meet to get so hateful?
What drugs do you take to be so out of touch?
Is the sky blue in your world?
What part of "Hades" do you come from?
Do you hate children as much as you hate me?
Do you enjoy being SO wretched?
What joy do you get by being evil?

The event being sponsored by the "Guns n Hoses" which is normally the Police Department and the Fire Department hold events throughout our great country, not only in Laredo. We have boxing, football, basketball, softball, flag football, track and field, archery and any other type of competition in benefit of the needy. It is normally between Police and Fire, but this year the Police backed out and left the Fire Dept. hanging. Thanks to McAllen and their "Nightmare Football Team", the game will go on as planned. All proceeds will go to the Special Olympics. We normally have about 5,000 fans that show up for the game, which means that a minimum of about $25,000.00 is donated to a charity.

Motown: I just can't believe someone being so hateful as to not caring about special olympics and money collected for this organization no matter who is sponsoring it. If that's the case, there is no hope for mankind any longer. I think the "hateful imp" as you call him is all mouth and no bite.

Make no mistake, I support the Special Olympics. I just don't support you. I've seen you come on this board as a wolf in sheeps clothing many times. I reiterate...... no one can be that hateful (to go out of their way to cause pain on purpose) AlbertaBee, you have to be one of the unluckiest people on this earth or have a very very vivid imagination after I have read some of those 'experiences' you gone through in the past. I'm thinking the latter because no one could possibly be still alive to hear you tell your tales. See? I'm not THAT gullible.

The football game Between the McAllen Nightmare and the Laredo Fire Dept. slated to be played June 5th, has been cancelled. It appears that the interest for the game dropped since the Laredo Police Dept. cancelled for the game. The fans were ready to watch the Police get dusted and Laredo fans have no clue who the McAllen Nightmare is, so interest on the game went down. This is an Annual game.

I'd like to thank the McAllen Nightmare team for stepping up and taking a chance to play our team. The Fire Dept. will wait for the winner of the Border Patrol (Brush Dawgs) against the Customs and Immigration team. They took our idea and are now playing their Second Annual game in July. Their game is also a fund raiser. It would be great if the law enforcers in the Valley did the same thing and maybe play Laredo Fire, Police, Customs or the Border Patrol. The Sheriff's Dept. is now getting a team together for more competition.
